Warrior Ohana generations continue legacy at Palm Circle
Wayne Ka'ahanui prepares the Kanaka Oiwi, a group of traditional Hawaiian cultural practioners for the Oli, the traditional Hawaiian asking of permission, and the Ha'a Koa, the traditional Hawaiian bent-knee dance of the warrior, at the promotion of his cousin, U.S. Army Reserve Sgt. 1st Class Justin Ka'ahanui, a civil affairs noncommissioned officer and medic with the 322nd Civil Affairs Brigade. The promotion takes place at Palm Circle, the same place their grandfather Henry Ka'ahanui Sr. enlisted to serve in the first Hawaiian Regiment during World War I at the bequest of Hawaii's Queen Lilioukalani, as well as the same place their uncle Henry Ka'ahanui Jr. enlisted to serve in World War II.
