Virtual Battle Space Training Ready
Staff Sgt. Steven Skaggs from the 312th Tactical Psychological Operations Company (TPS), based in Upper Marlboro, Md., assumes the job of Vehicle Commander (VC) while training with the Virtual Battle Space 3 (VBS3) Mounted Gunnery Trainer Plug-In during Operation Cold Steel III, hosted by the U.S. Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operation Command at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Oct. 30, 2018. Using this simulation, the Vehicle Crew Evaluator is able to train the Vehicle Commander (VC) and Gunner on individual and crew-coordination skills, engagement techniques, and targeting acquisition. Operation Cold Steel is the U.S. Army Reserve’s crew-served weapons qualification and validation exercise to ensure that America’s Army Reserve units and Soldiers are trained and ready to deploy on short-notice and bring combat-ready and lethal firepower in support of the Army and our joint partners anywhere in the world.
