Army Reserve Chicago-based command partner with local police for Active Shooter exercise
Army Reserve Soldiers, assigned to the 85th Support Command’s force protection G3 staff, review an active shooter exercise training plan with police officers from the Arlington Heights Police Department, ahead of an active shooter training exercise at the command headquarters, Oct. 30, 2018. Soldiers partnered with the local police and their neighboring staff from the Defense Contract Management Agency-Chicago for the exercise. More than 100 staff personnel across all of the organizations participated in the building-wide exercise to measure the effectiveness of mass communication systems, staff actions during and after an active shooter event to include securing locations, and medical assessments. The leadership’s actions during and after the event were also assessed, along with coordination with local law enforcement and armed guards. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Anthony L. Taylor)
