Active component brigade commanders learn Army Reserve processes during multi-compo orientation
Col. Edward Hlopak, Chief of Staff, 85th Support Command, elaborates with First Army brigade commanders on the 85th Support Command’s role in readiness from an administrative point-of-view, and how that supports overall mission readiness. Leaders from the 85th SPT CMD and First Army met during a New Command Teams Orientation brief on Oct. 13-14, 2018 at the command headquarters in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The briefing provided insight to active component leaders, who have Army Reserve battalions assigned to them, to understand reserve processes and systems within the multi-component partnership between the 85th SPT CMD and First Army. The 85th SPT CMD’s (logistical and training support) battalions, located across the continental United States, provide training to Reserve and Guard forces ahead of mobilizations and deployments world-wide.
