U.S. Army Reserve 2nd Lt. Sam Kendricks of Oxford, Mississippi wins the bronze medal in the men's pole vault with a mark of 5.85 meters at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games on Aug. 15 in Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's Thiago Braz de Silva took the gold with an Olympic record mark of 6.03 meters. France's Renaud Lavillenie claimed the bronze at 5.98 meters.
