Preparing for America's worst day
A displaced civilian role-player thanks Army Reserve Lt. Col. Shea Sherbert, right, with the 415th Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Company, based in Greenville, S. C., for his promise in providing immediate food and assistance to displaced civilians following a mock protest, at the Army Reserve’s Guardian Response 18 exercise, April 13, 2018. Hundreds of live role-players and moulaged mannequins, and more than 4,500 Soldiers from across the country participated in GR18, a multi-component training exercise to validate U.S. Army units’ ability to support the Defense Support of Civil Authorities in the event of a CBRN catastrophe. The training audience brought a range of life-saving capabilities such as medical response, decontamination, technical rescue, patient evacuation, communications and logistics support to move people, equipment and supplies by land and air.
