Revitalized Maintenance building increases efficiency to provide readiness
Maj. Gen. Troy D. Kok, commanding general of the U.S. Army Reserve’s 99th Regional Support Command, speaks with U.S. Congressman Thomas R. Suozzi and New York City Council Member, 19th District, Queens, Paul A. Vallone at the ribbon-cutting ceremony Aug. 17 for the revitalized AMSA/OMS (Area Maintenance Support Activity/Organizational Maintenance Shop) in Fort Totten. The center underwent a $12.6 million full-facility revitalization, allowing technicians to perform in an up-to-date facility to meet readiness standards as well as train military unit mechanics as needed so they can perform maintenance while they’re deployed.
