Crane Army hosts 983rd Engineering Battalion for Annual Training
U.S. Army Reserve Soldiers of the 983rd Engineering Battalion worked on five construction projects designed to improve infrastructure during the unit’s annual training hosted by Crane Army Ammunition located on Naval Support Activity Crane Activity. After placing the concrete, Spec. Joshua Woodrum instructed 1st Lt. Dana Kimbleman on how to rake concrete. Kimbleman, one of the officers in charge of the project, experienced her first annual training project at Crane Army. “I think the project is a one of a kind opportunity. We don’t get to do this kind of work while we’re drilling so it’s good practice for deployments,” Kimbleman said. The concrete pad is part of a larger project that will provide CAAA with a more protected storage unit for munitions.
