88th RSC commanding general meets military children’s curiosity with openness and honesty during Yellow Ribbon “Soldier Speak”
Maj. Gen. Patrick J. Reinert, 88th RSC commanding general, explains what the stars on his patch means to a classroom of military children during the Yellow Ribbon Event in Bloomington, Minn., May 7. “Soldier Speak”, an 88th RSC Yellow Ribbon Program highlight, allows children of military families an opportunity to ask a Soldier questions and share concerns, challenges and stories. The children ranged in age from six to twelve years old. Reinert met the children’s curiosity with openness and honesty, sharing his own personal experiences and encouraging the children to talk about their concerns as well as their accomplishments. Reinert also presented each military child with an “All American Hero” award during a children’s program in honor of their unique strengths and sacrifices.
