Army Reserve Ambassador Samuel T. Brick retired from civil service with over 30 years in in the DoD after serving in various attorney-advisor positions. ARA Brick is the former Director of Legislative Reference for the DoD. He further served in several legislative positions including as Chief Legislative Counsel for the Army. Additionally, he was the Director of the DoD Legislative Reference Service for 14 years. During his Army career, he served as a JAG officer and military judge, counsel and command judge advocate for HQ Area Command, Vietnam.  Among Reserve JAG positions, he served as staff judge advocate for the CENTCOM Rear Headquarters during the First Persian Gulf War. His last Reserve position was as SJA augmentee for USAREUR in Heidelberg.  While serving in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Ambassador Brick transformed the DoD legislative process with a seminal departmental program known as the Omnibus Bill.   He is admitted to practice law before the Maryland Bar and various federal courts to include the Supreme Court. Ambassador Brick wrote “Boots and the Law” about his JAG experiences during the Vietnam era. He currently is President of the Blythewood Citizens Watch and a member of various clubs and organizations while retired with his wife near Columbia, SC.
