Army Reserve Ambassador Edward E. Mize retired from a distinguished 36-year career with the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), where he held various positions, ultimately serving as the Assistant Deputy Director of Operations in the Correctional Facilities Administration (CFA). With over 40 years of service in the U.S. Army Reserve, ARA Mize began as a Traditional Reservist before transitioning to an Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Warrant Officer. His military career includes 32 years with the Army Criminal Investigations Command (CID), where he rose to the role of Senior Warrant Officer Advisor to the Commanding General on Reserve Affairs. Starting as an enlisted soldier, he served 15 years before being selected for the Warrant Officer Cohort, completing an additional 25 years and retiring as a Chief Warrant Officer 5 (CW5). ARA Mize is a graduate of the Army Warrant Officer Career College and has attended numerous military schools. Currently, he is part of the staff at the American Dunes Golf Club, a Folds of Honor course in Grand Haven, MI. Additionally, he volunteers with the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) in Michigan. ARA Mize resides in West Olive, Michigan, with his wife, LeAnn, where he enjoys volunteering at the local American Legion, and they enjoy spending time with their granddaughter.
