Army Reserve Ambassador Lewis P. Vasquez retired from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1998 as a lieutenant colonel. His Army Reserve and active-duty military experience over 28 years included various positions in military intelligence units, culminating as commander of the 465th Military Intelligence Detachment (Strategic). ARA Vasquez was mobilized during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and assigned to the Defense Intelligence Agency as Intelligence Officer Team Chief with responsibilities for managing and monitoring worldwide all-source intelligence, as well as the analysis and dissemination of terrorist threat and alert activities.

ARA Vasquez’ professional experience includes: Special Background Investigator for the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Coast Guard, Customs and Border Patrol, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement; and Risk Manager/Consultant for Fleet Boston Financial/Bank of America. ARA Vasquez developed Disaster Recovery Plans for computer/data systems for Aetna Insurance and Mohegan Sun Casino, and implemented local area networks for Department of Consumer Protection and a secured LAN at the U.S. Naval Base New London.
