Maj. Gen. Davis was commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry through the Army ROTC Program at Eastern Michigan University in May 1988. MG Davis has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
Davis is a 3L Joint Qualified Officer and a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advance Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Master Fitness Course, Basic Airborne Course, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Resident Army War College, Senior Leader Seminar and CAPSTONE.

He currently resides in Canton, Michigan with his wife Karen. They have three children, Andrew, Ian and Jennifer.
