Colonel Eric P. Tauch

Deputy Commanding Officer

Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC)

Colonel Eric Tauch, a native of Texas, commissioned in the US Army in May 1992, upon graduation from the United States Military Academy, West Point, New York.

 

During his 23+ years of commissioned service, Colonel Tauch held command and staff assignments in Korea, Colorado, Hawaii, Utah, Washington, DC, California, and Virginia.  He deployed in support of INTRINSIC ACTION in Kuwait and Iraq, and Operation STABILIZE in East Timor.  He also served as the Officer in Charge (OIC) for the Defense Intelligence Agency’s Libya Task Force supporting Operation ODYSSEY DAWN.

 

Command and staff highlights include: Ground Section OIC and CINC Command Intelligence Briefer, United States Forces Korea (USFK) J2; Assistant Battalion S2, 3-68 Armor Battalion, 4th Infantry Division; Battalion S-2, 1-12 Infantry Battalion, 4th Infantry Division; Analysis and Control Element (ACE) Operations Officer and Command Intelligence Briefer, US Army Pacific (USARPAC); Company Commander, Bravo Company (CI), 205th Military Intelligence Battalion, 500th Military Intelligence Brigade; US Forces J2, East Timor; Battalion S3, 3-360th Training Support Battalion, 91st Training Support Division; G3/7 Operations Officer, 9th Mission Support Command; Chief of Operations, Joint Reserve Intelligence Program, Defense Intelligence Agency; Commander, Western Army Reserve Intelligence Support Center; G3/7 Chief of Training, Military Intelligence Readiness Command; and G3/5/7 Director of Operations, Plans & Training, Military Intelligence Readiness Command.  He assumed his current role as the Deputy Commanding Officer, Military Intelligence Readiness Command, in January 2016.

 

Colonel Tauch holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management from the United States Military Academy, and a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy.  He is a graduate of the Military Intelligence Officers’ Basic and Advanced Courses; the Counterintelligence Agent Course; Combined Arms and Services Staff School, and Intermediate Level Education.

 

Awards and decorations include:  Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, and Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters.  He is Airborne qualified and a recipient of the Knowlton Award.

 

Colonel Tauch is married to Lieutenant Colonel Kimberly Tauch of Hawaii.  They have three children.
