In May of 2015, Mr. Walter began his assignment as the Command Executive Officer of the Military Intelligence Readiness Command (MIRC). Prior to entering Government Civilian Service, Mr. Walter spent over 29 years on active duty in both the Regular Army and the Army Reserve Active Guard Reserve (AGR) Program, ending his tenure as the Chief of the Army Reserve Enlisted Division and Deputy Director – Army Reserve in the Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate, U.S. Army Human Resources Command.
Mr. Walter received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Cartography and Map Technology from Missouri State University, his Master’s Degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, and his Masters in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College. He was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army Engineer Corps in 1985.
Currently, as an Army Reserve Troop Program Unit (TPU) Soldier, Mr. Walter serves as the Deputy Commanding General for the 84th Training Command (Unit Readiness), in Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Mr. Walter’s military awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit with oak leaf cluster, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal with seven oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with four oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Parachutist Badge, and the Engineer Regiment Bronze Order of the de Fleury Medal.
Mr. Walter resides in Virginia with his wife. He is a proud father of three children.
