200th Military Police Command

CSM Owens began his military career when he enlisted in the United States Army Delayed Entry Program on 7 June 1983. He completed three years in the Active Army. October 2014, he was selected to be the third Command Sergeant Major of the 200th Military Police Command.

As the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Commanding General of the 200th Military Police Command, his duties include interaction with assigned Brigades, Battalions, Companies, Detachments, and HHC in order to keep abreast of the morale and esprit de corps of the enlisted soldiers and serves as the Commanding Generals subject matter expert on all matters pertaining to enlisted Soldiers. These units are located throughout the continental United States.

CSM Owens previous leadership positions as a Command Sergeant Major include Command Sergeant Major, 290th Military Police Brigade, Nashville TN; Command Sergeant Major and 733d CID Battalion, Fort Gillem GA. Several of his previous leadership positions include Operations Sergeant Major 324th Signal Battalion; First Sergeant, 359th Signal Brigade and First Sergeant HHC (FWD) 335th Signal Command.

His military education includes courses in Combat Signal, Personnel Administration, Radio Operator, Military Police, Primary Leadership, Advanced Non-commissioned Officer, First Sergeant, Pre-Command Command Sergeant Major Course, Defense Support Civil Authorities, Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education, FEMA Military Resource Management, and Self Structured Development Level 5. He is a graduate of the US Army Sergeants Major Academy (USASMA), August 2009 class.

CSM Owens’ military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (2d Award), Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal (6th Award), National Defense Service Medal (2d Award), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with “M” Device, NCO Professional Development Ribbon with numeral 4, and the Overseas Service Ribbon.

His military campaign is Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was assigned to the 335th Signal Command from June 2007 to June 2008.
CSM Owens is a sworn police officer in the state of Georgia. He started his Police career in 1989. As a part of this career, he is a FBI National Academy graduate (class #225). CSM Owens is currently a Detective Commander with the Cobb County Police Department.
