Brigadier General Doug Anderson

Commanding General

9th Mission Support Command

Brigadier General Doug Anderson currently serves as the Commanding General, 9th Mission Support Command with headquarters at Fort Shafter, Hawaii. He was commissioned in May 1988 as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the ROTC program at Washington State University.

Notable prior assignments include: leadership, staff, and command assignments in Light, Ranger, Airborne, and Mechanized Infantry units in Korea, Georgia, and Colorado; command of a Logistics Support Battalion, Senior Advisor to an Infantry Brigade of the 1st Iraqi Army Division in Fallujah, Iraq; Division G-1 of the 94th Division, command of a Personnel Services Brigade, G-3/5/7 of the 80th Training Command (The Army School System), command of the 97th Training Brigade (Intermediate Level Education), command of the Great Lakes Division, 75th Training Command (Mission Command) headquartered at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, where he additionally served as the Senior Installation Commander, and Deputy Commanding General of the 63rd Regional Support Command. Prior to assuming his current position, BG Anderson was the Director, Army Reserve Engagement Cell, and Deputy Commanding General – Army Reserve, U.S. Army Pacific.

He is a graduate of numerous military courses to include the Infantry Officer Basic Course, the Armor Officer Advanced Course, the Engineer Officer Advanced Course, the USMC Amphibious Warfare School, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the U.S. Army War College, the Advanced Joint Professional Military Education Course, the Canadian Security Studies Program, the United Nations Senior Mission Leader’s Course, and CAPSTONE. He is an Army Joint Planner and a Joint Qualified Officer.

During his career, he proudly served in units awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award, the Meritorious Unit Commendation and the Army Superior Unit Award. In 2016 he was inducted into the inaugural class of the National ROTC Hall-of-Fame.

Brigadier General Anderson holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Public Administration, a Master’s degree in Human Resources Management and a Master’s degree in Strategic Studies. He and his wife have three children and live outside of Atlanta, Georgia.
