Command Sgt. Maj. Ronnie Farmer began his career with the United States Army Reserve in August 1988. He completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Ft Dix, N.J. Farmer has held every leadership position in the Army Reserve from Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant Major to Command Sergeant Major. His assignments include: 319th Transportation Company, Augusta Georgia; Lanes-meister,2d/Bn 347th Regiment Ft Gordon, Georgia; Transportation NCOIC, 2d/ BN 345th Regiment Ft Jackson, SC; Operations Sergeant Major, 2d/Bn 345th Regiment, Ft Jackson, S.C; Brigade Sergeant Major, 1189th Transportation Terminal Brigade, Charleston, SC; Group Sergeant Major, 595th Transportation Terminal Group, Port of Ash-Squaiba, Kuwait; Group Sergeant Major (Rear), 597th Transportation Terminal Group, Fort Eustis, Va. Farmer is currently assigned as the 2d Battalion, 349th REGT Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Fort Stewart, Ga. His awards and decorations includes the Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal (w2 OLC),Army Commendation Medal, (w/6 OLC) Army Achievement Medal (w/4 OLC) Army Good Conduct Medal, Reserve Components Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal,Southwest Asia Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), and the Kuwait Liberation Medal. CSM Farmer’s civilian and military education includes an Associate’s Degree from Georgia Military College, Bachelor of Science Degree from Excelsior College, and a Master of Arts Degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University, all with honors; Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Pre-Command Course, Small Group Leaders Course, STAMP Course, Retention Course, and the Mob Planner’s Course. CSM Farmer is a graduate of the prestigious United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Class 55.
