Brigadier General Patrick L. Pollak was Commissioned 18 May 1994 as a Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington. He holds a Master of Science from Wilmington University, is a graduate of Senior Service College as a fellow of the Harvard University National Security Fellowship program, Command and General Staff College / Intermediate Level Education, UC-35 Jet Qualification Course, Fixed Wing Multi-Engine Qualification Course (C-12), Fixed Wing Instructor Pilot Course, Combined Arms Services Staff School (CAS3), AH-64 Qualification Course, Air Defense Officer Advanced Course, Infantry Officer Basic Course, and Airborne School.
BG Pollak was last assigned as the Commander of the 11th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade with previous command assignments including Battalion Commander of 6th Battalion, 52nd Theater Fixed Wing Battalion in Los Alamitos, California, and various commands at the field and company grade levels. His key staff assignments include Division Chief, Army Collective Training – Headquarters Department of the Army G-3/5/7, Army Pentagon, Washington DC; Operations Officer, 244th Aviation Brigade, Fort Dix, New Jersey. BG Pollak deployed twice to Afghanistan, once serving as the Task ODIN jet detachment commander Bagram airbase, and another tour as an AH-64 Apache pilot in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. Additionally, he deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina in support of Implementation Force (IFOR) and Stabilization Force (SFOR).
BG Pollak’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal with Valor, Combat Action Badge, Senior Aviator Wings, Expert Infantryman Badge, and Airborne Wings.
BG Pollak and his wife, Jill, have been married for over 29 years and they have an 13-year-old daughter, Brooke. In his civilian capacity, he is a 737 Captain and Line Check Pilot with United Airlines.
