Brig. Gen. Stephen M. Pazak was raised in a career Army Family. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration and commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps through Army ROTC.
His leadership positions include serving as the 90th Sustainment Brigade Commander, the 300th Special Troops Battalion Commander, the 2nd Transportation (HET) Company Commander during Operation Iraqi Freedom, Maintenance Troop Commander, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, and 542nd Maintenance Company Platoon Leader.
His staff positions include serving Deputy Commanding Officer/Chief of Staff, 143 Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Chief of Staff, 1st Theater Sustainment Command (OCP) during Operation Spartan Shield, Command Inspector General and Support Operations Supply and Services Branch Chief, 4th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), Executive and Operations Officer, 645 Quartermaster Detachment, Deputy Support Operations and Supply and Services Officer, Regimental Support Squadron, 11th Armored Cavalry Regiment, Support Operations Maintenance Officer, 44th Corps Support Battalion, Shop Officer and Executive Officer, 542nd Maintenance Company.
Brig. Gen. Pazak is a graduate of the Air War College, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Inspector General Basic Course, the Theater Sustainment Course, the Support Operations Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, and the Airborne Course. He holds a Master of Science Degree in Strategic Studies from the Air War College and a Master of Arts Degree in Organizational Leadership from Chapman University.
Brig. Gen. Pazak’s awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal w/ Silver OLC, the Army Commendation Medal w/ 3 OLC, the Army Achievement Medal w/ 2 OLCs, the recipient of the Noble Patron of Armor and the Commission of Kentucky Colonel by former Governor of Kentucky Ernie Fletcher.
