Command Sgt. Maj. (CSM) Troy E. Buzard enlisted in the Army in 1992 as an 88N (Transportation Movement Coordinator) and conducted basic training at Fort Dix, NJ, with Advanced Infantry Training at Fort Eustis, VA. He re-classed to the 77L10 (Petroleum Lab Specialist) specialty in 1995.

His deployments include Implementation Force (IFOR) 1996, Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 2003 and 2009, Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) 2007.
