CW4 Terrance L. Coleman, Jr., a Tampa, Florida native, has demonstrated exceptional leadership and expertise in human resources and personnel readiness throughout his distinguished career, which began in 2001 as a Human Resources (HR) Specialist. His appointment as a Warrant Officer in 2011 further solidified his reputation as a strategic thinker and operational leader in management and personnel operations.
CW4 Coleman's enlisted career consisted of assignments with the 332nd Transportation Battalion, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (2006) and 143D Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) and 103d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) in support of Operation Enduring Freedom (2008, 2009). While deployed, he was pivotal in managing HR operations for over 5,000 Soldiers, ensuring personnel accountability, operational readiness, and administrative efficiency in austere environments. His ability to adapt to complex challenges and drive mission success set the foundation for his transition into the Warrant Officer Corps.
Upon completing Warrant Officer Candidate School, he was assigned as the Battalion Human Resources Officer for the 2-485th Regiment before mobilizing with the Army Reserve Medical Command (AR-MEDCOM) as a G-1 HR Technician. Recognized for his exceptional leadership and organizational acumen, he was selected in 2014 to serve as the Executive Officer (XO) for Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment (HHD), AR-MEDCOM, where he oversaw the operational effectiveness of over 500 Soldiers, optimizing personnel management strategies and enhancing command efficiency.
From 2015 to 2018, CW4 Coleman served as a key leader in the Mobilization Cell (MOB Cell) at the 335th Signal Command (Theater), where he successfully deployed and redeployed over 40 units and 3,000 Soldiers to support operational requirements. His ability to synchronize mobilization efforts, streamline personnel readiness processes, and ensure mission success was instrumental in the command's operational effectiveness. In recognition of his outstanding contributions, he was selected as the Signal Corps Warrant Officer of the Year in 2015, a testament to his professional excellence and impact on Army mobilization operations.
Building on this success, he served as the acting Assistant Chief of Staff, G-1 for the 353D Civil Affairs Command, overseeing HR operations for over 4,000 Soldiers. Concurrently, he served as the Command Chief Warrant Officer, providing senior warrant officer leadership, mentorship, and professional development to warrant officers across the command, further influencing Army policies and force readiness.
Currently, CW4 Coleman serves as the Command Chief Warrant Officer and Personnel Management Branch Chief for the Army Reserve Medical Command. In this dual capacity he provides strategic leadership on all matters pertaining to the warrant officer cohort while overseeing enterprise-level personnel management functions. His efforts drive modernization, workforce planning and mission readiness initiatives across the command, ensuring the Army remains operationally agile and mission ready.
CW4 Coleman holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a minor in finance from Trident University. He has completed a comprehensive list of professional military education courses, including Warrant Officer Intermediate Level Education, Army Force Management, and various HR leadership programs.
His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Three Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Commendation Medal (Two Oak Leaf Clusters), Army Achievement Medal (Four Oak Leaf Clusters), National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary & Service Medals, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with a “M” Device, and the Driver & Mechanic Badge.
