Brig. Gen. Christopher Piland

Commanding General, Military Readiness and Training Command

Brig. Gen. Christopher Piland is a native of Griffin, Georgia.  He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Clayton State University in 1997, his Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Management and Technology in 1999, and his Master of Strategic Studies from the US Army War College in 2019.

Brig. Gen. Piland enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in May 1989 as a biomedical equipment technician. He served in the 3297th US Army Hospital at Ft. McPherson, GA and in the 427th Medical Logistics Battalion at Ft. Gillem, GA.  After ten years of enlisted service, he obtained the rank of Sergeant and in 1998 received his direct commission into the Medical Service Corp.

He is also the recipient of the Order of Military Medical Merit.

In his civilian capacity Brig. Gen. Piland is an entrepreneur serving as an Investment Advisor for Georgia Wealth Partners. He is married to Tami recently celebrated 34 years.  Chris and Tami have three boys - Jordan, 31, married to Chloe, Brett 29, married to Hunter, and Chandler 25, married to Mary Francis.  He is also a proud grandfather of five, Sadie Grace Piland, Emerson Michael Piland, and Finley Reese Piland, Murphie Lane Piland, and Carsyn Elizabeth Piland.
