Brig. Gen. Mitchell J. Wisniewski III

Commander, 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command

Brigadier General Mitch Wisniewski graduated from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) and commissioned from the Reserve Officer Training Corps at John Carroll University as a Transportation Lieutenant in 1996. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Management from CWRU, a Master of Science in Business from the University of Kansas and a Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College.

Brig. Gen. Wisniewski’s past assignments include Platoon Leader at 1486thTransportation Company; Freight Movement Officer and Petroleum Officer at154th Quartermaster Battalion; Company Commander at 1067thTransportation Company; Executive Officer, Company Commander, and Forward Operating Base Executive Officer at Fort Dix, Mobilization Readiness Battalion; Operations Officer at 143d Expeditionary Sustainment Command; Command Readiness Team Manager, Operations Officer, and Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff at United States Army Reserve Command; Commander at 542nd Quarter Master Company (Force Provider); Deputy Critical Infrastructure Program Manager, Joint Training Officer, and Chief Joint Operations, Plans, & Training Division at United States Transportation Command; Commander at 1-393d Brigade Support Battalion: Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations at the 377th Theater Sustainment Command; Commander at Army Support Activity, Fort Dix, Deputy Commander at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, and Assistant Chief of Staff at the Office of the Chief of Army Reserve. Brig. Gen. Wisniewski is currently assigned as the Commander of the 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command.

Brig. Gen. Wisniewski’s combat and operational deployments include Operation Enduring Freedom 2003-2007 (Fort Dix, NJ) and 2009 (Afghanistan).

Brig. Gen. Wisniewski is a graduate of the US Army Transportation Officer Basic Course, the US Army Transportation Officer Advance Course, the Combined Arms Exercise, the Command and General Staff College, the Support Operations Course, the Joint Humanitarian Operations Course, the Joint and Combined Warfighter School-Hybrid, the Defense Institute of Security Cooperation Studies Security Cooperation Management Policy, Programs, and Planning Course, the Advanced Strategic Art Program and the US Army War College.

His awards and decorations include: the Legion of Merit, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (with four Oak Leaf Clusters), the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal (with two Oak Leaf Clusters), and numerous unit and campaign medals.

Brig. Gen. Wisniewski is married to the former Ms. Jennifer Bower of Morrisville, Pennsylvania and they have two boys: MJ and Jack.
