Brig. Gen. Christopher W. Cook was commissioned on Dec. 16, 1994, through ROTC at East Central University in Oklahoma. He entered Active Duty on Jan. 16, 1995, attended the Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, and was assigned to the 6th Battalion, 32nd Field Artillery Regiment, where he served as a Platoon Leader, Maintenance Officer, and Battalion S-1. On May 31, 1999, Brig. Gen. Cook left Active Duty and transferred to the Army Reserve.
Brig. Gen. Cook holds a Bachelor of Science in management from East Central University, an MBA in telecommunications management from the University of Dallas, and a Master of Arts in strategic security studies from the College of International Security Affairs at the National Defense University.
Brig. Gen. Cook currently serves as the Deputy Commanding General-Support for the 63d Readiness Division and as DCG-mobilization for Mobilization Force Generation Installation execution at Fort Cavazos, Texas. His previous assignments include commander of the 78th Training Division. He also served in the 95th Division (IT) as a Battery Commander, Battalion Assistant S-3, Brigade S-1, Battalion Executive Officer, Brigade S-4, Battalion Commander, Division Executive Officer, Brigade Commander, and G3/5/7. In addition, Brig. Gen. Cook commanded the 2nd Battalion, 381st Regiment (Training Support), 120th Brigade, 1st Army, and served as G7 for the 75th Training Command.
Brig. Gen. Cook was recalled to Active Duty from 2004 to 2006 as an observer controller/trainer with the 75th Division in support of deploying National Guard and Army Reserve units. In 2009, he deployed to Afghanistan, where he led an Embedded Training Team, training the Afghanistan army and police. From 2012 to 2013, Brig. Gen. Cook was again recalled to Active Duty, serving as the battalion commander for the Warrior Transition Battalion at Fort Hood.
His military education includes Airborne School, Field Artillery Officer Basic Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Intermediate Level Education, the Advanced Operations Course, and the National War College. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal with three oak leaf clusters, and the Combat Action Badge.
Brig. Gen. Cook has two daughters and is employed by AT&T as a senior system engineer.
