CSM Chandler has served in two components of the US Army: Regular Army and United States Army Reserve (USAR) over the course of the last 31 years. In 1993, he enlisted as a Medic in the USAR at the age of 17 and attended basic training at Fort Sill, OK between his Junior and Senior year of high school.In 1997, he enlisted in the Regular Army as a Human Resource Specialist assigned to the 1st Personnel Group G1 Strength Management Section, Fort Lewis, WA. After a year at Fort Lewis he PCS to the 203rd Personnel Service Battalion (PSB) in Fort Richardson, AK. In 2001 he transferred into the Army Reserve from Active Duty. His service in the Army Reserve has included G1, Section NCOIC for the 104th Training Division, reclassed to Military Police to be a Detention NCO with 491st Military Police Company deployed to Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) Cuba, served as the First Sergeant for the 376th Adjutant General Battalion. He volunteered for Iraq deployment as the S1 and S2 while assigned to the 143rd Transportation Command, Military Transition Team (MiTT). Served as the G8 with the 326th Finance Group. Assigned as the Operations Sergeant Major to the Conus Replacement Center (CRC) at Fort Benning, GA. Worked as the S2/3 with the 96th Military Police Battalion and was then deployed with the unit to GTMO as the Operations NCOIC. Was selected as the 371st Combat Sustainment Support Battalion Command Sergeant Major, with additional duty as the Fort Knox Mobilization Force Sustainment Battalion. In 2020 he was selected as the 383rd Quartermaster Battalion Command Sergeant Major. 2021 served as the 77th Quartermaster Group Command Sergeant Major. 2023 served as the 1st Brigade, 78th Training Division Command Sergeant Major.
