Command Sgt. Maj. Samuel D. Stroud

Command Sergeant Major, 311th Signal Command (Theater)

Command Sergeant Major Stroud is a native of western Pennsylvania.  Upon graduation from high school, CSM Stroud enlisted into the regular Army as a 13B (Cannon Crewmember) and completed One Station Unit Training (OSUT) at Ft Sill, OK.

CSM Stroud previous AGR assignments includes CSM, United States Army Careers Group, Fort Knox KY, CSM, Richmond Recruiting BN, Richmond VA, G3 Production/Analysis SGM, USAREC, Ft Knox KY, 1SG, Kings Mills Recruiting Company, Mason OH, S3 NCOIC, 1st BDE 98th DIV, Ft Moore GA, Guidance Counselor, Richmond Recruiting BN, Richmond VA, Army Reserve Recruiter, Seattle Recruiting BN, Everett WA.  His previous TPU assignments include the 380th CRC in Bothell WA and 1/414 Regt (BCT) in Renton, WA.  His previous AD assignments include C Btry 3/20th FA Hanau Germany, A Btry 77th FA, Ft Knox KY and A Btry 5/41 FA, Schweinfurt Germany.

CSM Stroud’s military education includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Professional Development, Nominative Leaders Course, Sergeants Major Course (Class 69), Battalion and Brigade Pre-Command/ CSM Development Courses, Battle Staff NCO Course, Basic Recruiter Course, Guidance Counselor Course,  Drill Sergeant School, Master Fitness Trainer Course, Master Resilience Trainer Course, Airborne School, Air Assault School, and Numerous functional courses.  He holds a BS in Liberal Arts from City University of Seattle and an associate degree in Criminal Justice.

His awards and decorations include: Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Army Reserve Commendation Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal,  Military Outstanding Volunteer Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal,  Liberation of Kuwait Medal (Kuwait and Saudi Arabia), Army Superior Unit Award, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Drill Sergeant Identification Badge, Gold Recruiter badge and has been awarded several foreign badges. He also holds the Glenn E Morrell excellence in Recruiting medallion.
