Colonel Tony Mancari received his commission as an Engineer Officer from the United States Military Academy in 1998. As an active-duty Combat Engineer Officer, he served in various leadership and staff positions within the 168th Engineer Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division and the 70th Engineer Battalion, 1st Armored Division. In April 2003 he deployed to Baghdad in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom as the Battalion S4 and returned in 2009, as an Army Reservist, to serve as an advisor to the Ministry of Interior.
As a Reserve Officer, he served as the PACOM operations officer for the 416th Theater Engineer Command’s Contingency Response Unit, lead instructor for the Command and General Staff College, Battalion Commander of 1-330th IN REGT and the Mission Command Chief for 2nd Detachment, 1st BDE, 91st Training Division and Commander of the 302d Maneuver Enhancement Brigade.
Colonel Mancari holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Point, a Master of Business Administration from Lake Erie College and a Master in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He is a registered Professional Engineer in New York and Ohio. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Joint Achievement Medal, the Parachutist Badge and the Air Assault Badge.
Colonel Mancari resides in Mentor, Ohio with his wife Barbara, a former active-duty Army officer. They are blessed with six children: two daughters are graduates of West Point and currently serving as Field Artillery and Engineer officers, a third daughter is currently a junior at West Point and one daughter and two sons are at home.
