Brig. Gen. Sandra K. Martin

412th Theater Engineer Command

Brig. Gen. Sandra Martin is a native of Marked Tree, Arkansas. She graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate of the Arkansas State University ROTC program, where she earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering. She holds a M.S. in Project Management as well as a M.S. in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. She also holds certifications as a Project Management Professional and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.

Brig. Gen. Sandra Martin assumed duties as the Deputy Commanding Officer- Support on July 12, 2024, after serving as the Deputy Commander of the Deployment Support Command, Birmingham, Alabama. Previous assignments include Chief of Staff, 84th Training Command; Brigade Commander for the 368th Forward Engineer Support Team- Main, Decatur, Georgia; Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4, 412th Theater Engineer Command, Vicksburg, Mississippi; Operations Officer for Army Prepositioned Stock Division, Army Materiel Command, Huntsville, Alabama; Battalion Commander and Executive Officer for the 1-354th Battalion, 95th Training Division (IET), Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Operations officer and Company Commander for Headquarters, 102nd Training Division (Maneuver Support), Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; Company Executive Officer, 68th Combat Support Equipment Company and Platoon Leader, Alpha Company, 62nd Engineer Battalion, Fort Hood, Texas.

Brig. Gen. Martin has deployed numerous times in support of contingency operations and the Global War on Terrorism. She mobilized in 2005 in support of OPERATION ENDURING FREEDOM, Heidelberg, Germany as an Operations Officer.  Later in 2008, she deployed in support of OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM, Baghdad, Iraq as a Construction Management Officer supporting the Iraq reconstruction effort. Her most recent mobilization was as a Brigade Commander with the 368th FEST-M in support of COVID-19 response. 

Brig. Gen. Martin’s military education includes the Engineer Officer Basic Course, Field Artillery Captains Career Course, Combined Arms Service Staff School (CAS3), Intermediate Level Education, and Airborne School.

Brig. Gen. Martin’s awards and decorations include: Brig. Gen. Martin is a 2019 recipient of the Army Engineer Association Bronze Order of the De Fleury Medal.  She is also a Silver Medalist with the 2001 All Army Soccer Team.

In her spare time, Brig. Gen. Martin serves Scouting America Troop 351 as an Eagle Scout Project Mentor and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate for foster children in her home county. Brig. Gen. Martin is a Senior Program Analyst for Intuitive Research and Technology, supporting the Program Executive Officer for Missiles and Space on Redstone Arsenal.  She lives in Madison, Alabama with her husband Allen and their five children.
