Col. Clinton "Clint" S. Williams

Deputy Commander, Army Reserve Aviation Command

COL Williams is the Deputy Commanding Officer (DCO) for the Army Reserve Aviation Command
(ARAC) and Major Subordinate Command within US Army Reserve Command. Prior to the DCO 
assignment he was the ARAC G357. 


He is a 1999 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil 
Engineering from USMA and a Masters in Adult and Continuing Education from Kansas State 
University.


Immediately following commissioning from USMA, he reported to Fort Rucker, AL for Officer Basis 
Course and Initial Entry Rotary Wing (IERW) Training. Upon graduation from Flight School in early 
2001, he reported to Wheeler Army Airfield, HI for his first assignment where he served as a Platoon 
Leader in A/2-25 AVN REGT. During his time as platoon leader, he deployed to Tuzla, Bosnia in 
support of Stabilization Force (SFOR) 11 from March to September 2002.
Upon return from SFOR 11, COL Williams was promoted and became an assistant S3 with 2-25 
AVN. In early 2004, he deployed with 2-25 AVN to Kandahar, AFG and was a planner and battle 
captain for TF Diamondhead (2-25 AVN REGT). Following redeployment in April 2005, he was the 
HHC 25th AVN BDE XO and assistant G3 Air at the 25ID headquarters.
In November 2005, COL Williams assumed command of HHC/2-25 AVN REGT and deployed his 
company to Iraq for OIF 06-08 in July 2006. He changed command in May 2007 and became the 
209th Aviation Support Battalion (ASB) S3 until August 2008, at which point he resigned from active 
duty.


Following a several year break in service, COL Williams was recommissioned in the US Army 
Reserve and was on the IRR from January 2011 to September 2011. In September 2011 he was 
accepted into the AGR program and immediately assumed duties as the S3 for 7-158 AVN REGT 
(GSAB) at Ft. Hood, TX until June 2014.
From June 2014 to June 2015, COL Williams was a resident student at the US Army Command and 
General Staff College at Ft. Leavenworth, KS.


In July 2015, COL Williams was assigned to the Deputy G3 positon at the 11th Theater Aviation 
Command (future Army Reserve Aviation Command (ARAC)) at Ft. Knox, KY, a position he held 
until September 2017, at which time he assumed duties as the acting ARAC G3.
On 27 AUG 2018, he took command of 8-229th Assault Helicopter Battalion at Ft. Knox, KY. The 
Battalion HQ and several support elements mobilized in February 2019 and deployed to the 
CENTCOM AOR for Operation Inherent Resolve and Operation Spartan Shield, assuming the Task 
Force Javelin mission from April 2019 to January 2020.


Following BN Command he attended the Army War College in Carlisle, PA, graduating in June 2021 
and then spent a year at USNORTHCOM as a J36 (Domestic Operations) Branch Chief. 
His awards include the Bronze Star (1 OLC), Air Medal (2 Numeral Device) Meritorious Service 
Medal (4 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (1 OLC) and Senior Aviator Badge.
COL Williams has been married to his wife, Ginger for 11 years and has two young children.
