Chief Warrant Officer 4 Douglas J. Sires currently serves as the fourth Command Chief Warrant Officer of the 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support), Fort Douglas, Utah. Sires serves as the senior warrant officer advisor to the commanding general advising on all matters affecting strength management, talent management, professional development, and the tactical and technical proficiency of 807th MC (DS) warrant officers. Sires also serves as the Maintenance Section Chief of the 807th MC(DS) and advises the Chief of Logistics regarding both medical and ground maintenance concerns, developing innovative ways to address command readiness shortfalls across the formation.
Looking to follow in his father’s footsteps, Sires enlisted in the Army in March 2000 as a private and has now served in the Army Reserve for over 24 years. In February 2003, Sires deployed to Afghanistan as a Biomedical Equipment Specialist in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. In November 2013, he deployed to Kuwait as the Chief of Medical Maintenance, U.S. Army Hospital - Kuwait.
His previous assignments include duty with the 452nd Combat Support Hospital, Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the 410th Medical Logistics Company, Milwaukee; the Central Medical Area Readiness Support Group, Fort Sheridan, Illinois; the 330th Medical Brigade, Fort Sheridan; Acting Commander of the Headquarters Company, 3d MC(DS), Fort Gillem, Georgia; and the Command Maintenance Officer, 3d MC(DS), Fort Gillem.
Sires is currently working to complete his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering at Thomas Edison University. He graduated #2 of 49 in his Warrant Officer Senior Service Education and as the Distinguished Honor Graduate of Warrant Officer Basic Course. He has completed the Medical Logistics Officers Course (70K) and the AMEDD Captains Career Course (CCC).
His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (Silver Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Achievement Medal (Silver Oak Leaf Cluster and 2 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters), National Defense Service Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Service Medal, and the Norwegian Marsjmerket Foot-March Skill Insignia (Silver).
Sires has been happily married to his amazing wife, Kimberly, since June 2002. They have five children, Elijah, Nadia, Liam, Zivah, and Abraham, and too many pets and yard animals to mention.
