Brigadier General Colin J. Morrow

Commanding, 91st Training Division

Brigadier General James Morrow enlisted in the Active component US Army in 1986 as a Cook, 92G. He joined the Army National Guard in 1990. He received his commission in 1995 as a Second Lieutenant into the Army Military Intelligence Corps through the Officer Candidate School program. He served in the Army National Guard until 2007 at which time he transitioned to the United States Army Reserve. He was promoted to Brigadier General on 06 December 2023.

He has commanded at multiple echelons to include the Military Intelligence Detachment, 2/19th Special Forces Group, Kenova, WV; Support Company CDR 2/19th Special Forces Group, Operation Iraqi Freedom CJSOTF-AP, Iraq; Acting CDR of Detachment 2, 2100 Military Intelligence Group, WPAFB, OH; 378th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Battalion, Ft. Sheridan, IL and Ft. Dix, NJ; Fort Hood Mobilization Brigade, Ft. Hood, TX;  the 38th Regional Support Group, Charleston, WV; 259th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Brigade, JBLM, WA; and has been the Commander of the 91st Training Division, Camp Parks, CA as of 01 March 2023.

He has served in several Battalion, Brigade, and Division level staff positions to include Assistant S-2,113th Infantry BN; Intelligence Officer, Operation Allied Force, Macedonia, Albania and Kosovo; S-2, 2/19th Special Forces Group, Operation  Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan; Operations Officer, Detachment 2, 2100 MIG; S-3, 378th Expeditionary Military Intelligence Battalion; S-2/3, 208th RSG; G-2, 75th Training Command; Chief of Staff then Deputy Commanding Officer of the 91st Training Division.

His Mobilizations and deployments include Operation Allied Response, Macedonia and Kosovo; Operation Enduring Freedom, Uzbekistan and Afghanistan; Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq; Operation Enduring Freedom, Ft. Hood, TX.

He is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education Course II, Joint Planners Course, Joint Special Operations Task Force, U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, Combined Arms Service Staff School, Intelligence Signals and Electronics Warfare Course, Military Intelligence Captain’s Career Course, and Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course.

Brigadier General Morrow graduated from Rutgers University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. He has two master degrees: Master of Strategic Studies from the Army War College and a Master of Arts of International Relations and Comparative Politics from Wright State University.  He holds several awards and badges to include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Joint Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medals, Joint Achievement Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medals, the National Defense Service Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon, the Combat Action Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Russian Parachutist Badge. He is also a recipient of the Military Intelligence Corps’ Knowlton Award.
