U.S. Army Reserve Chief Warrant Officer 5 Carlton S. Darby Jr. serves as the Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO) for the 80th Training Command TASS in Noth Chesterfield, Virginia. The CCWO functions as the senior warrant officer of the command and advises the CG and staff on warrant officer issues to include readiness, professional development, and utilization. The CCWO also communicates with warrant officers throughout the Command to ensure their concerns and recommendations are considered in decisions that will impact their readiness posture.
A native of Warsaw, Virginia, Mr. Darby enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR) as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic in September 1986. He served 14 years of enlisted service and achieved the rank of Sergeant First Class (E-7). In May 2001, he transitioned to the Warrant Officer ranks. He holds an associate degree in automotive technology from Northern Virginia Community College, a bachelor’s degree in business administration from George Mason University, a Master of Arts degree in Procurement & Acquisition Management from Webster University and Master of Professional Studies in Project Management from Georgetown University.
