Command Sgt. Maj. Denny J. Walker

Command Sergeant Major, 311th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary)

Command Sergeant Major Walker entered the Army in July 1989 and completed Basic Training and Military Police Advanced Individual Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.  In March 1998 CSM Walker left active duty and re-enlisted into the Army Reserve in October 1998.  He mobilized and deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom I in March 2003.  He also mobilized in support of the CONUS Replacement Center, Fort Bliss Texas from April 2014 to January 2017.

His assignments include: MP Company (USAG) Fort Huachuca Arizona (two tours); 284th MP Company Frankfurt Germany; 418th Base Support Battalion, Frankfurt Germany; 2/363rd Training Support Battalion Phoenix Arizona; 382nd MP Detachment San Diego California deployed to Jordan and Combined Joint Task Force-7 Baghdad Iraq; 1st MP Battalion, 3rd Brigade (CS), 104th Division (IT), Aurora Colorado; 539th MP Detachment, Phoenix Arizona; 56th MP Company (CS) Mesa Arizona; Command Sergeant Major assignments include 1/415th Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 95th Division, Phoenix Arizona; CONUS Replacement Center, 5th Armored Brigade First Army, Fort Bliss Texas; Special Troops Battalion, 304th Sustainment Brigade, 311th ESC, Riverside California; 77th Quartermaster Group (POL), 4th ESC, El Paso Texas; 653rd Regional Support Group, 311th ESC.  His current assignment is 311th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Los Angeles California.

CSM Walker has held various leadership positions to include MP Team Leader, MP Desk Sergeant; NCOIC Traffic Accident Investigations; MP Special Reaction Team Leader; MP Duty Officer; Platoon Sergeant; Course Manager; Operations Sergeant; First Sergeant; Operations Sergeant Major and since 2011 as Command Sergeant Major.

CSM Walker’s military schools include: NBC NCO Defense Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, MP Special Reaction Team School, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, Observer Controller/Trainer Course, Total Army Instructor Course, Small Group Instructor Course, Anti-Terrorism Officer Basic Course, Physical Security Officer Course and the Sergeant Major Course.

CSM Walker’s awards include:  Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (5OLC), Army Commendation Medal (3OLC), Army Achievement Medal (4OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd award), Army Reserve Commendation Achievement Medal (7th award), National Defense Service Medal (6th award), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal with M & Silver Hour Glass device, NCO Professional Development with numeral 5, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon with numeral 2, Driver Badge with wheel device, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Valorous Unit Citation and Army Superior Unit Award.

He is married to Melissa, they currently reside in Prattville, Alabama.  They have four children and five grandchildren.
