Command Sergeant Major Subretta L. Pompey is the CSM of the 99th Readiness Division. Command Sergeant Major Pompey was born in Bradenton, Florida. CSM Pompey enlisted in the United States Army on Dec. 2, 1988. She attended Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, in August 1989 and graduated from Advanced Individual Training (AIT) as a Special Electronic Device Repairer at Fort Gordon, Georgia. She recently served as the Command Sergeant Major of the United States Army Reserve Legal Command, and the G1 Sergeant Major at the 103d ESC performing duty in Camp Arifjan, Kuwait.
CSM Pompey completed an 11-year enlistment on Active Duty and then enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in Utica, New York, where she served as the Training NCO in an Engineer Battalion. CSM Pompey completed PLDC, BNCOC, and ANCOC and is a 2012 graduate of the United States Sergeants Major Academy. In December 2017, CSM Pompey graduated from the Nominative Leaders Course at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. During CSM Pompey’s 30 years of distinguished military service, she has served in multiple overseas and conus assignments including Operation Desert Shield/Storm 1991, Bosnia 1999-2000, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2006-2007, and most recently Operation Spartan Shield 2019-2020. In her civilian career, she is currently a Staff Operations and Training Specialist (SOTS) at the 80th Training Command, G7, in Richmond, Virginia. She has previously been assigned to the 80th Training Command G1 as a Human Resource Technician.
CSM Pompey has served in many units during her career. CSM Pompey became a member of the United States Army Reserve in August of 2000, of which her assignments included: C Company, 1/389th Regiment, Utica, New York; HHD, 2nd Battalion, 78th Division, Fort Drum, New York; D Company, 1/319th Regiment, 7th Brigade 80th Division, Fort Lee, Virginia; 6/80th Personnel Services Battalion, 80th Division, Richmond, Virginia; 8/98th Battalion (TASS), Fort Dix, New Jersey; CSM 359th Transportation Battalion, Fort Eustis, Virginia; CSM, 4th BDE (HS), 100th Division, San Antonio, Texas; CSM, Atlantic Training Division, 84th Training Command.
CSM Pompey is a graduate of Basic Combat Training (BCT); Advanced Individual Training for 39E, Special Electronic Device Repairer; Combat Lifesaver Course; Primary Leadership Development Course; Air Assault Course; Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course; Drill Sergeant School; Personnel Service Specialist Course; Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course; Total Army Instructor Training Course; Small Group Instructor Training Course; Financial Management Technician Course; EEO; Systems Approach to Training-Basic Course; Foundation Instructor Facilitator Course and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. CSM Pompey is a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club. She has an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration specializing in Accounting and a Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management.

She is the mother of three sons: Johnny, Da’Relle Sherrod, and Donovan Jamarr.
