Brigadier General Andrew F. Scarcella was the Deputy Commanding General-Support for the 88th Readiness Division, headquartered at Fort Snelling, Minn., and Fort McCoy, Wis. He assumed the position October 2022. He was previously the Commander of the 2nd Brigade, Atlantic Training Division, Newport, R.I.
Brigadier General Scarcella has also served as the Deputy Commander, 78th Training Division; Commander/Theater Historian, 27th Military History Detachment; Commander, 10th Battalion, 8th Regiment (Officer Education System); and Deputy Director of Instruction, 10th Battalion, 80th Regiment (Officer Education System). He deployed to Iraq as an Operations Officer for Third Army/U.S. Army Central at Camp Buehring in Kuwait in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, and to Kosovo as S3 for 2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, Task Force Falcon supporting Operation Joint Endeavor.
Brigadier General Scarcella is a graduate of the U.S. Army War College and U.S. Army Command and General Staff College. He has master's degree in strategic studies from the Army War College and a bachelor's degree in finance from Notre Dame.
