Command Sgt. Maj. Freddy Trejo

Command Sergeant Major, 84th Training Command


CSM Freddy Trejo joined the United States Army on June 1989 and attended Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training from August 1989 through December 1989 at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. After graduating he was awarded the Military Occupational Specialty of 62B10, Construction Equipment Repairman. Later he would be reclass to 63B.


CSM Trejo has served the Army faithfully and during this time he has held a variety of Leadership positions from Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, and First Sergeant through Command Sergeant Major. He has led Soldiers at all levels of Maintenance from Shop Foreman to Senior Maintenance Supervisor.

CSM Trejo’s military and civilian education includes the Combat Lifesaver Course, Military Transition Advisor Course, Primary Leadership Development Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer’s Course, First Sergeant Course, Sergeants Major Academy, and Senior Enlisted Joint Professional Military Education (SEJPME) Level I and II, and the Nominative Leaders’ course. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Brandman University.

His deployments include Operation Iraqi Freedom - I in February 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom - VII (Surge) - July 2008, Operation Enduring Freedom Guantanamo Bay, Cuba - June 2017, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, Operation Spartan Shield, and Operation Freedom Sentinel in the CENTCOM AOR - 2020, and Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Inherent Resolve, and Operation Spartan Shield in the CENTCOM AOR 2025.

CSM Trejo’s awards include: Legion of Merit (1OLC), Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Metal (4 OLC). Army Commendation Medal (2OLC), Army Achievement Medal (1 SOLC), Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal (1 SOLC w 2 BSS), National Defense Service Medal (1BSS), Iraq Campaign Medal (1 BSS), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (BSS), Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Armed Forces Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (Gold Hourglass, "M" Device), Non-Commissioned Officer Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 6), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4), Reserve Components Overseas Training Ribbon (Numeral 2) and the Drivers and Mechanics Badge. CSM Trejo is also the recipient of the order of Samuel Sharp and the Order of Saint Martin.

CSM Trejo is married to the former Sylvia Corona of Los Angeles, CA, and has five children, Samantha, Julia, Gabriella, Ashley, and Matthew.
