SGM Paul E. Caswell is a native of Indianapolis, Indiana and he enlisted in the Army in February 1988 as an Infantryman. He attended Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia.
SGM Caswell has served in every leadership position from team leader to first sergeant as well as a brigade operations sergeant. His stateside assignments include Fort Benning, Georgia; Fort Ord, California; Fort McCoy, Wisconsin; Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; Fort Bliss, Texas and Camp Parks, California. His overseas assignment was Guam. He has deployed to Panama and Iraq for combat operations.
SGM Caswell's military education includes the Primary Leader Development Course, the Basic NCO Course, the Advanced NCO Course, the Total Army Instructor Trainer Course, the Small Group Instructor Trainer Course, the Battle Staff NCO Course, the Video Tele-training Instructor Trainer Course, the First Sergeant Course, the Equal Opportunity Representative Course, the Master Resilience Facilitator Course, the Faculty Development Program-Developer Course, the Common Faculty Development-Instructor Course, and the Sergeant Major Course. His civilian education is an Associate in Business from American InterContinental University.
SGM Caswell's awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (4th award), the Army Commendation Medal (4th award), the Army Achievement Medal (4th award), the National Defense Service Medal (3rd award), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, the Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd award), the Combat Infantry Badge, and the Expert Infantryman Badge.
SGM Caswell resides in Tracy, California with his wife SFC April D. Caswell and their daughter Reagan (15). Their three sons Trevor (26), Travis (25), and Chandler (19) as well as their other daughter Megan (23) live outside the home.
