Major General Todd L. Erskine

Commanding General, 79th Theater Sustainment Command

Maj. Gen. Todd L. Erskine serves as commander of the 79th Theater Sustainment Command at Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos, California. He most recently served as commanding general of the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) in Indianapolis, Indiana.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science, he also holds an M.S. in Human Resource Management from Tarleton State University and an M.S. in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. His military education includes the Canadian Security Studies Programme, the Reserve Component National Security Course, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education from the Joint Forces Staff College, and most recently, CAPSTONE.

Prior to commanding the 310th ESC, Brig. Gen. Erskine served as Deputy Commanding General of the 377th Theater Sustainment Command, overseeing theater sustainment operations and readiness across six subordinate one-star Army Reserve Commands. He also served as Deputy Commanding General–Operational Command Post, supporting Army North in Defense Support of Civil Authorities missions, including the nationwide COVID-19 response and both phases of Operation Allies Welcome.

His foreign service includes deployment to Kuwait as Commander of the 300th Sustainment Brigade, J1 Personnel Director for the Office of the Program Manager – Facilities Security Forces in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and Maintenance Branch Chief for U.S. Central Command in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit (3), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (6), Joint Service Commendation Medal (2), Army Commendation Medal (3), Army Achievement Medal (4), and the Parachutist Badge.

Maj. Gen. Erskine lives in Temple, Texas with his wife of 27 years, Amy Jo. They have four children: Katelyn, 2nd Lt. Logan, Jackson, and Carson. In his civilian career, he is a Senior Portfolio Planner for Baylor Scott & White Healthcare and a part-time cattle rancher.
