Command Sergeant Major Judd Mooso resides in Niceville, Florida with his wife Kim, daughter Kyleigh, and son Jayden. CSM Mooso enlisted in the Army in August 1991 and attended Basic Training and Advanced Individual Training as an Infantryman at Fort Benning, Georgia.
His initial assignment was to the 3rd Battalion, 14th Light Infantry Regiment, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, NY, where he served as an Infantryman and Anti-armor specialist. In 1996, he separated from active duty and subsequently served in the Louisiana and then Florida National Guard for the next five years; he enlisted in the Army Reserve in 2001.

His military campaigns include Operation Restore Hope, Somalia 1992-1993 and Operation Iraqi Freedom, Iraq 2006-2007.
His military includes all levels of the Noncommissioned Officer Education System.
