In August of 2015, Mr. Spinelli began his assignment as the Command Executive Officer (CXO) of the 85th United States Army Reserve Support Command (85th USARSC). As the CXO, Mr. Spinelli provides executive leadership, management, and oversight of plans, programs and policies in the 85th USARSC.
He reports to the Commanding General for a Functional Command with units dispersed across 25 States and Puerto Rico. He directs, manages and supervises operations of the command in the absence of the Commander. He supervises a workforce of 4,200 Soldiers (Active Guard Reserve and Troop Program Unit), Civilians (Military Technicians and Department of the Army Civilians) and Contractors.
Mr. Spinelli began Federal Civil Service in 2011. Prior to his current position, Mr. Spinelli served as the Human Resources Officer for the 85th USARSC and as a Supervisory Military Personnel and Administrative Specialist for the 88th Army Reserve Regional Support Command.
Mr. Spinelli received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and an Army ROTC Commission from the University of Illinois, Urbana and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Jane Addams School of Social Work at the University of Illinois, Chicago.
Mr. Spinelli is a native of Chicago, Illinois and currently resides in Illinois with his wife. He is a proud father of three children.
