CSM Jodi R. Renner enlisted in the U.S. Army on 24 February 1990 under the Split Training Option for the North Dakota Army National Guard. She attended Basic Training at Fort Dix, NJ June 1990 and Construction Surveyor MOS training at Fort Leonard Wood, MO August 1991. In August of 1995, she received her Combat Medic Training at Camp Parks, CA.
CSM Renner’s current assignment is the Command Sergeant Major for the 78th Training Command, JB MDL, NJ. Serves as the principal senior enlisted advisor to the Commanding General of the 78th Training Division with an assigned strength of approximately 1000 Soldier, made of 2 subordinate brigades. The 78th Training Division is responsible for conducting and validating realistic Combat Support Collective Training, Leader Development, and Mission Command in a decisive action training environment to prepare Soldiers and units for future operational challenges.

CSM Renner retired from the City of Alexandria, VA Fire Department after 25 years of service as a Firefighter Paramedic. She graduated Summa Cum Laude and as the Valedictorian with a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Valley City State University in Valley City, ND. She is married to Laura E. McCarthy, and they have one child, Allison (25). Both Laura and Allison are Registered Nurses.
