Maj. Gen. Miles Davis assumed the role as the Commanding General of the 63rd Readiness Division located in Mountain View, California, on November 5, 2021. As the commanding general of 63rd RD, his area of responsibility is the seven-southwestern states of the U.S. this includes: California, Nevada, New Mexico, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.
Maj. Gen. Davis was commissioned as a second lieutenant of Infantry through the Army ROTC Program at Eastern Michigan University in May 1988. BG Davis has a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University, and a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College.
Maj. Gen. Davis is a 3L Joint Qualified Officer and a graduate of the Infantry Officer Basic Course, Infantry Officer Advance Course, Military Police Captains Career Course, Master Fitness Course, Basic Airborne Course, Combined Arms and Service Staff School, Command and General Staff College, Resident Army War College, Senior Leader Seminar, CAPSTONE, and ASEP-A.

Maj. Gen. Maj. Gen. Davis currently resides in Mountain View, Calif., with his wife Karen. They have three children, Andrew, Ian and Jennifer.
