Command Executive Officer

412th Theater Engineer Command (TEC)

Mr. Edward Simpson serves as the Command Executive Officer and on behalf of the 412th TEC Commanding General for the day-to-day management, supervision and oversight of the command.  The 412th TEC is comprised of 142 unit formations organized under three subordinate brigades and four direct reporting units with over 12,000 Soldiers and 250 Civilians, and 51 facilities located across 20 states. The 412th TEC directly supports PACOM, SOUTHCOM and NORTHCOM (regionally aligned GCCs) and their ASCC with an operating budget of over $55 million dollars.  

Mr. Simpson has served in variety of assignments over his extensive career. His previous assignment included the CXO of the 310th Expeditionary Command (Sustainment) in Indianapolis, Indiana. This command is comprised of 8,000 Soldiers and 139 civilian personnel, in 9 states, 66 facilities and a $33 million dollar budget.

As a Military Technician, Mr. Simpson has worked at all echelons from company to the general officer headquarters. He worked in a variety of staff and supervisory positions to include: Battalion Supervisory Staff Administrator for the 327th MP BN Battalion, Brigade Supervisory Staff Administrator for the 336th Transportation Group, and Staff Operations and Training Officer 310th Expeditionary Command (Sustainment).

Mr. Simpson graduated high school and enlisted in the United States Army Reserve as a Personnel Actions Specialist. Upon completion of Basic and Advance Individual Training, he was assigned to the 478th Personnel Services Company in Chicago, Illinois.  Two years after joining the Army Reserve, he went to work full-time for the Army Reserve in the Military Technician Program as a GS3, Administrative Supply Technician.

As a member of the Army Reserve, Mr. Simpson is currently assigned as the Command Sergeant Major of the 75th Great Lakes Training Division, Fort Sheridan, IL.  Mr. Simpson has deployed twice to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Mr. Simpson was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois and holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Excelsior University. He is a graduate from the United States Sergeants Major Academy Class #55. He has two sons, Torian and Jeremy, who both live in Chicago.
