Command Sergeant Major Ronnie Farmer assumed responsibilities as the senior advisor to the 88th Readiness Division Commander on May 19, 2019. He began his career with the United States Army Reserve in August 1988. He completed Basic and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Dix, N. J. Throughout his military career, Command Sergeant Major Farmer has served in every leadership position in the Army Reserve from Squad Leader, Platoon Sergeant, First Sergeant, and Operations Sergeant Major to Command Sergeant Major. His assignments include, the 319th Transportation Company, Augusta, Ga.; Lanes-Meister, 2nd/Battalion 347th Regiment Fort Gordon, Ga.; Transportation Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge, 2nd/Battalion 345th Regiment Fort Jackson, S.C.; Operations Sergeant Major, 2d/Battalion, 345th Regiment, Fort Jackson; Brigade Sergeant Major, 1189th Transportation Terminal Brigade, Charleston, S.C.; Group Sergeant Major 595th (Active Component), Transportation Terminal Group, Port of Ash-Squaiba, Kuwait, with an area of responsibility in Bagram, Afghanistan; Balad, Iraq, and Bahrain; Group Sergeant Major (Rear), 597th Transportation Terminal Group, (Active Component), Fort Eustis, Va., Command Sergeant Major of the 75th Training Command, Houston, Texas; and Command Sergeant Major of the 335th Signal Command (Theater), East Point, Ga. Command Sergeant Major Farmer is currently assigned as the Command Sergeant Major of the 88th Readiness Division at Fort McCoy, Wisconsin.
