Colonel Steven F. Egan

Colonel Egan was born in New Britain, Connecticut and raised in Bristol.

He received his commission from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1994 as a Second Lieutenant in the Infantry. He branch transferred to the Military Police (MP) Corps the following year. COL Egan served on Active Duty in numerous leadership and staff assignments to include Graduate Assistant, Department of Behavioral Sciences and Leadership, USMA, West Point, New York; Platoon Leader, 437th MP Company, Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Assistant Battalion Operations Officer, 728th MP Battalion, Teagu, Korea; Company Commander, Fort Belvoir Military Police Company, Deputy Provost Marshal, and Battalion Operations Officer, Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

Colonel Egan transferred to the Army Reserve in 2003, serving as a drilling reservist for 10 months with the 3rd Battalion, 312th Regiment at Fort Meade, Maryland prior to being mobilized as part of Noble Eagle where he served for 18 months as an observer, controller and trainer. He joined the Active Guard Reserve (AGR) program in June 2004. His notable assignments include the Overseas Deployment Training Officer and Operations Officer, 8th US Army, Indianapolis, Indiana; Battalion Operations Officer, 744th MP Battalion, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; Total Force Integrator Combat Developer, Maneuver Support Center of Excellence, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; and Garrison Commander, US Army Garrison, Fort Devens, Massachusetts. Upon completion of command, COL Egan served as the Lessons Learned Branch Chief and Operational Assessment Branch Chief within the Headquarters, United States European Command J7 before transferring to the EUCOM J9 Interagency Directorate to serve as the Director, Joint Interagency Counter Trafficking Center and the EUCOM Counter Transnational Threat Line of Effort Lead. He also served as the Army Reserve Engagement Team Chief. He deployed as the Operations Officer with the 744th in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008 to run Remembrance II, Theater Internment Facility, Camp Cropper, Baghdad, Iraq. The battalion directed over 1000 Soldiers, guarded over 3000 detainees and processed every detainee into and out of the internment system.

Colonel Egan earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Individual Psychology from the United States Military Academy at West Point and Graduated with Honors from Webster University at Saint Louis, Missouri with a Master of Arts degree in Business and Organizational Security Management. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Strategic Studies from the US Army War College, Distance Education program. His professional military education includes the Military Police Office Basic Course, Captains Career Course, Combined Arms Service Staff School, Intermediate Level Education, Advanced Operations Course, Advanced Joint Professional Military Education and Army War College.

Among the awards and decorations he has earned, COL Egan received the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Army Commendation Medals, Army Achievement Medals, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and Meritorious Unit Citation and several other awards, the Air Assault Badge and the German Armed Forces Efficiency Badge-Gold.
