Command Sgt. Maj. Neil J. Pierce

Command Sergeant Major, 102d Training Division (MS)

Command Sergeant Major Neil Pierce entered the United States Marine Corps on 17 July 1991, where he served four years before entering the United States Army in 1995.

Currently serving as the Command Sergeant Major of the 102d Training Division (Maneuver Support), Command Sergeant Major Pierce has previously served as the Command Sergeant Major to five other units: the 104th Division (Leader Training) from 2020 to 2024, 2D Brigade, 104th Division (Leader Training), in Lexington, Kentucky, from 2018 to 2020, the 332nd Medical Brigade, 3rd Medical Command, in Nashville, Tennessee, from 2016 to 2018, 2-399th Battalion, at Fort Knox, Kentucky, from 2014 to 2016, and the 1109th Mobilization Support Battalion, 1 Mobilization Support Group, at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, from 2012 to 2014. He has served as the G3 Sergeant Major for the 108th Training Command, in Charlotte, North Carolina, and First Sergeant of both Bravo Company 1-50, 198th Brigade, at Fort Benning, Georgia, and Bravo Company 2-398th, 95th Division, in Madisonville, Kentucky. He additionally served with a Military Transition Team in An Numaniyah, Iraq, from 2004 to 2005, a Senior Drill Sergeant, Delta Company, 3-398th, 100th Division, in Paducah, Kentucky, a Tanker in Bravo Company, 3-398th, in Paducah, Kentucky, and a Marine Corps Rifleman in K Company, 25th Marines, in Evansville, Indiana. As of his Assumption of Responsibility of the 102d Training Division in September 2024, Command Sergeant Major Pierce has served a total of 33 years of military service in both the Marine Corps and Army.

CSM Pierce’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star, Legion Of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal (5 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (2 OLC), Army Achievement (2 OLC), Army Reserves Components Achievement Medal (2 OLC), Army Good Conduct Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense (Bronze Star), Armed Forces Reserve Medal (M device/Silver Hourglass), Noncommissioned Officer Development Ribbon (5), Army Service Ribbon, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Combat Action Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Drill Sergeant Badge, Airborne Wings, and the German Armed Forces Proficiency Badge (Gold).
