Command Sergeant Major Lawrence C. Arnold was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. In 1984 he joined the United States Army and attended One Station Unit Training at Fort McClellan, Alabama.
CSM Arnold has served in various assignments including the Military District of Washington Military Police Company, Fort Myer, Virginia; HQ LEC, 716th Military Police Battalion, Fort Riley, Kansas; 249th Military Police Company, Camp Humphreys, South Korea; HHC, 194th Military Police Company, Fort Knox, Kentucky; Command Sergeant Major (CSM) of the 304th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade; CSM of 724th Military Police Battalion, 290th Military Police Brigade; CSM of 1st Brigade, 78th Training Division; CSM of the 78th Training Division; and currently as the Command Sergeant Major of the 84th Training Command. CSM Arnold has served in every leadership position from team leader to command sergeant major, and twice as a company first sergeant. While serving in the above duty positions, CSM Arnold has participated in three mobilizations and operational deployments to Afghanistan (Operation Enduring Freedom 13-14, OCONUS); Fort Knox, Kentucky (OEF, CONUS); and Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri (OEF CONUS).
CSM Arnold’s formal military training consists of Primary Leadership Development Course, Military Police Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course, Military Police Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course, TATS First Sergeants Course, the USASMA Sergeants Major Course, Non-resident Class 36, Command Sergeants Major Course and the Executive Leaders Course. He is a retired Assistant Chief of Police and is currently in his senior year at Eastern Kentucky University where he is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Police Administration. He is a graduate of the Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice Police Officers Training Academy, the Federal Bureau of Investigations National Academy, the Southern Police Institutes Administrative Officers Course and has a combined total of over 1900 hours in civilian law enforcement training. He is certified as a Firearms Instructor, Crime Scene Processor, Background Investigator, Internal Affairs Investigator, and a Police Manager.
CSM Arnold’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (4th OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (2nd OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (3rd Award), the Army Reserve Achievement Medal (3rd Award), the National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal (1 Bronze Star), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Service Medal, Korean Defense Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Ribbon (M-Device), the NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 6), the Army Service Ribbon, the Army Overseas Ribbon (Numeral 2), and the NATO Medal.
