CSM Law enlisted into the United Sates Army in 1983 and after completing Infantry Basic, AIT, and Airborne School at Fort Benning, he was assigned to Fort Bragg, NC, as a paratrooper in C/2/2325/82 (ABN) where he was a Fire Team Leader, Squad Leader, and Platoon Sergeant (Acting). In 1987, CSM Law was assigned to the C/321/4/80th Training Division (USARC) where he was a Drill Sergeant and a Sr. Drill Sergeant. In 1995, he was assigned to USACAPOC (ABN) where he served as a Detachment Sergeant, First Sergeant, Operations Sergeant, and a Command Sergeant Major. In this role, he also served with the 82nd ABN DIV, SOCCENT, & more. In 2012, CSM Law became the CSM for the 244th Aviation Brigade where he was both the Brigade CSM and the JTFCS (DCRF) Aviation CSM. In December of 2015, CSM assumed the role as the 3rd Brigade, 75th Southern Training Division Command Sergeant Major.
In CSM Law’s career, he has deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and others.
CSM Law’s military education includes U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy, Ranger School, Jumpmaster School, Sniper School, Combatives, SOCOM & ASOC Pre-Command Courses. CSM Law has an MBA from SMU’s Cox School of Business and an MA from Old Dominion University where he completed his thesis research in the PR of China.
CSM Law’s awards include; Legion of Merit, Soldier’s Medal, Bronze Star, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, MSM w/ 2 OLC, JSCM w/ 2 OLC, ARCOM w/ 2 OLC, Navy Commendation Medal, and many others. He has also earned the Ranger Tab, Combat Action Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Expert Infantry Badge, Expert Marksmanship Badge.

CSM Law’s has also received the Department of the Army Reserve’s Haine’s Award for being the U.S. Army Reserve’s Drill Sergeant of the Year and the Order of Saint Michael’s (Bronze Award) for Excellence in Army Aviation.
