FORT HUNTER LIGGETT, Calif. - U.S. Army Reserve Staff Sgt. John Hartigan qualifies on an M2 machine gun under the observation of his assistant gunner, U.S. Army Reserve Spc. Melissa Simmons, at Fort Hunter Liggett, Calif., Oct. 31, 2017 during Operation Cold Steel II. The Army Reserve has designed this large-scale training exercise to ensure its units and Soldiers are ready to mobilize, deploy quickly, and fight fast anywhere in the world as part of Ready Force X.
